Two or three specialized reviewers on the field of the submitted paper review each manuscript. For the journal Food Hygiene, the double-blindreviewing process is carried out through which the names of the authors and reviewers are unknown to each other.
Having received the link of the submitted paper through email, the reviewers can enter the reviewing software directly or indirectly using a “User Name” and “Password”. Online reviewing is carried out in the following way:
After entering the system and opening your own personal page, click on the icon “Reviewer”. Then click on “New Papers”. In this step, the original paper can be seen for review. By clicking on “Paper Code”, you can determine whether the paper has been reviewed or not.
After accepting the reviewing for the paper, by re-clicking on “Paper Code”, the paper will be available for review (the link for accessing the paper is sent simultaneously to your email).
In the reviewing page, the following options are available:
“Related Files”: Receiving the Original Article.
Review Form: After reviewing is finished, the reviewer’s general comments on the paper are recorded, and if needed, the necessary explanations about each section are added.
“Reviewer’s explanations for the editor/author”: After reviewing is finished, if necessary in the box provided, explanations should be sent to the editor in chief and author.
“Sending the Files”:
If the reviewer’s comments and suggestions are recorded in the Original Paper file, it is necessary for the reviewers to upload and send the paper via this part.
Note 1: All information about the paper that is revealed to the reviewer should be confidential, and they should be kept secret.
Note 2: It is necessary for the respected reviewers to refrain from accepting papers in which they share an interest in one way or another.
